A lot of great ideas stem from people who had a mentor – somebody who can show you the ropes and help guide you on your journey. Having people under you who agree with everything and don’t give you solid advice won’t get your nonprofit where it needs to be.

However, a mentor will give you the direction you need and will tell the truth no matter the subject. The learning aspect of a mentor is the best part of the deal.
