Innovative Data Campaign: SMS Text Baby

This year, DoSomething.org wanted to connect and viscerally spread the word about teen pregnancy. So naturally, they used a medium teenagers engage with every day—text messaging.

The idea: Get teens to sign up to care for a digital infant. The text baby sends the participants messages at any time of the day (or night), needing to be fed, changed, etc. The campaign successfully simulated the life-changing inconvenience of being a teen parent by reaching out to over 100,000 participants.
