The feeling you get after you land another grant never gets old. You’re overcome with excitement and gratitude. But when you find out you didn’t get the grant, the feelings aren’t so pleasant.

Despite the disappointment of not landing a grant, manners still matter. Most organizations think about expressing gratitude when they land a grant, but not when they are denied. But in order to build a relationship with the reviewers, work to set your nonprofit apart for future grant requests.
