Want more donations? Of course you do. All nonprofits do. And here’s the thing, your nonprofit may not be getting as much as possible out of your donors. (And that’s kind of a bad thought, isn’t it?)
The good news here is that these donors are already in the state of mind to give. They’ve got the checkbook out, pen poised (or, fingers typing). We’re here to add a few decimal places to that check.
Step one is to make it matter. Be sure your donors know what tangible results will come of their donation. Otherwise they may feel like they’re tossing their money into a well—never knowing how it was used or what good it did. The key to getting larger donations is to inspire them—show how their donation will make a difference.
