If we get an email from an unknown or sketchy looking address, chances are we’ll delete it. We probably won’t even open it, for fear of releasing a virus. Well, that could’ve been your nonprofit’s latest email marketing campaign. Whoops. (And sorry, our bad.) But in our defense, you violated rule number one of email campaigning—keep the “From” address easily recognizable. Had this theoretical aforementioned email been sent to us from an easily discernible address, we probably would’ve opened it and seen how wonderful it was. But we missed out. Bummer.
